You enter an event name and a target date. The tool computes the difference between the current time and the event date in milliseconds, then converts that into days, hours, minutes, and seconds using standard division. It also derives weeks, approximate Fridays, biweekly pay periods, and year-progress percentage. The countdown refreshes every second using a JavaScript interval timer. All times are based on your device's local clock.
The countdown uses your device's local time and treats the event date as midnight local time on the selected day. If your event is in a different time zone, the countdown may be off by a few hours — adjust the date accordingly.
Yes. The event name and date are saved in the URL automatically. Bookmark the page after entering your event and it will reload with your countdown intact.
The timer stops and displays a message indicating the event has arrived. It will not count into negative numbers.
The timer updates once per second using JavaScript's setInterval. It is accurate enough for casual countdowns but may drift by a fraction of a second over long periods due to browser throttling, especially in background tabs.
